Funeral Administrator - Maidenhead Office

This vacancy necessitates a person of smart appearance with excellent telephone manner and written skills to meet the public in the course of making funeral arrangements, liaising with the bereaved families, hospitals, nursing homes, crematoria, church ministers and Coroner’s Officers.

General duties include receiving instructions over the telephone, taking specific instructions from families, arranging for necessary documentation with hospitals and doctors.

The successful applicant will be required to show families into the Chapel of Rest, escort doctors into the mortuary, supervise floral tributes for outgoing funerals and confirmation of funeral arrangements.

Important criteria for this post are the ability to work as part of a team; use their own initiative and give great attention to detail with a confident but quiet manner. Good knowledge of standard office procedures and the use of computers is required.

A.B. Walker and Son operate on Microsoft Windows along with Eulogica funeral software programme. Training on in-house computer programmes will be given.

Our service must, at all times, be first class and the care and consideration of our customers’ needs and requirements is of the utmost importance. We therefore require a person with a positive attitude, with plenty of initiative to learn the procedures and quickly become a valuable member of a busy working team.

The applicant must hold a driving licence.

Previous experience within the funeral industry is preferred.


A uniform is provided.

Office Hours  9.00am – 5.00pm

Six month probationary period either way.

Holidays – 20 days per year

Salary – £20,000 per annum.
