Could you help families through the difficult time of making funeral arrangements, right from the first call?

AB Walker, a long-established, family owned and run funeral director has a vacancy for a full-time funeral arranger to manage our branch in Maidenhead.

If you are compassionate, have great communication skills and want to help others this role could be for you.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist families in making funeral arrangements offering support from the initial call through to the completion of arrangements
  • Coordinate with various third parties including hospitals, nursing homes, crematoria, churches, cemeteries, ministers and celebrants to ensure all aspects of the funeral process are handled sensitively and professionally
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings and communicate effectively over the phone to guide families through decision-making processes
  • Prepare the Chapel of Rest for visitations by loved ones, ensuring it is presented in a dignified and respectful manner
  • Take responsibility for managing the branch, working in the branch on your own, with the support of the wider team
  • Foster positive relationships within the local community, representing AB Walker with professionalism and empathy.

About you

  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Well-organised and capable of working to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Comfortable working on your own, taking responsibility for your work and the management of the branch
  • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team dedicated to excellence and community support
  • Full, clean driving license is essential
  • Ideally vaccinated against Covid-19.

Salary and benefits

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. This is a full-time, office based role.

Salary: From £25,000 plus benefits
