'Met' Jan, or as my husband I called her, 'Yanchik' back in c.2002 via 'Friends Reunited' where she was one of the very few voices of reason; always side-splittingly funny, never judgemental, never anything other than thoughtful, considerate, kind and generous. We corresponded via various social media through the years, and Jan helped me (and I'm sure hundreds of other people) with her spot-on advice. Sending much love to Jan's family. You already know how blessed you were to have her.

When I started working as a consultant at Dunedin hospital in 2002 I was 'allocated' Jan as my first private secretary. I didn't know it but how lucky I was. Over the following 10 years she helped me see and treat numerous patients with their dodgy knees. We worked hard but had lots of fun along the way. She was a great help in developing my practice and certainly showed me the way to 'do things'! I will always be indebted to her and will smile whenever I think of her.
