In 1994 Derek joined the staff team of the NSGSO of which I had been working since 1991,Derek became the lead on behalf of the Scout Association and continued to ensure for many more years that the annual course and occasional tours took place.It was a great loss when Derek could no longer carry on with NSGSO There are hundreds of young musicians who have benefited from the opportunity they had with the orchestra as well. On my and there behalf I say a big thank you, he will be remembered.
