Babs' belongings have been distributed amongst her family and friends as keepsakes and most of the remainder we have managed to sell. We know she would want to make her own contribution with the proceeds.

Nan you were a treasure and you will be sorely missed. From the smaller memories, such as your hilarious Christmas Pictionary sketches, your love for grey horses in the Grand National, your love of singing and dancing and how much you loved a Friday fish and chip supper. But there's one common theme which I hope we'll all hold on to; one of your favourite songs and something you are seen doing in pretty much every photo you're in and something you will be remembered for; and that's your smile. Thank you for everything. Give grandad a hug from us all when you see him. Love you always x

Dear Nanny Babs (as we all called you). A very special lady with a very big heart, full of love whom made such an impact on our family. We were privileged to have shared many happy years in your company along with Grandad Ernie too. Family parties, BBQs at Reading Road. Your passion was Darts back then & Aunt Sally & we loved to watch when we could. Any family social you were always there to lend a hand. You were admired and loved by all of us. We are all so very sad and sorry to hear of your passing but we have so many fond memories that will stay with us. You have walked the path of this life may you now re-join lost loved ones & reunite with your beloved husband Ernie. Night night God Bless you Nanny Babs. All our love. I did not have the pleasure of meeting you, but I'd say you must have accumulated a large treasure chest of memories to tell all your family. Such memories are very blessed always, and I'm quite certain that you also will be treasured in the memory of your loved ones, and if you believed, as I do, that one lovely day we'll all be re-united forever in a wonderful place, then we can surely look forward to that, with great hope. Lord Bless you, Dermot

There are so many memories that I have that I could write down but unfortunately there wouldn't be enough space to write them all. You and Grandad Ernie were always there for me, especially throughout my childhood and teenage years. You lived with us so you were either in the front room or in your house down the garden whenever i needed you. I remember you were there for me through so may things. You were always there for advice, to give me a hug or even to tell me off for things like eating too many sweets at Pa's video shop where you worked. I think of you during everyday things like when I boil and egg (something you taught me to do) and other small things that seem so trivial. I remember coming with you to watch you play darts or Aunt Sally which you loved. It's these memories and many more that i will keep in my heart forever. I love you dearly and will miss you very much Thank you for being my Nan, Vicky xxxxxxxxxx

Dear Babs....the original independent, open-minded woman! As the matriarch of an ever-changing, ever-expanding family, you have been the 'constant', remaining proud and loyal - enabling it to develop and bond. What a legacy ! We owe you big-time. I couldn't have wished for a more perfect surrogate mum to spend the past 13 years with - outings, lunches, bingo, holidays, shopping trips etc. You have been such good fun and excellent company. Everyone admires you for your, dignity, strength of character, humour, humility, generosity. gratitude, caring, non-judgemental ways. It has been a total pleasure sharing the last chapter of your extraordinary life story. What am I (and your lovely Ron) gonna do now!? Miss you already Babs, but wherever you may be, hope it's with those you loved and lost... busy starting the first chapter of your next biography! Love you X
