Wesley Service Venue Option - Reading

We recognise the need for a larger capacity, readily available and exclusive venue to hold funeral services as an alternative to local crematorium chapels.

Aimed at being an alternative funeral venue for families in the wider Reading area, The Wesley Church is one of the most notable buildings on the Reading skyline; it is located within walking distance of the town centre, only a 15-minute walk from the train station and with its own car park. Working in partnership with the church we have exclusive use to utilise it as a venue for AB Walker to hold all styles of funeral ceremonies with several distinct advantages:

  • Longer service time
  • Larger capacity (currently 60)
  • Superior live and recorded video
  • Exclusive use
  • Greater availability
  • Superior recorded music and organ facilities

We offer three, one-hour service times during the day: 10am, 12noon and 2pm.

The hearse, containing the coffin, could travel directly to the venue or via a residence or if you would prefer, the coffin could be discreetly placed in the chapel before mourners arrive.

At the end of the service, the coffin can either remain in situ until all mourners have departed or carried out to our waiting hearse and we will take care of the cremation. Alternatively, you could accompany the coffin to the crematorium chapel (this will incur increased cremation and service charges).

We can advise on all sort of options to personalise the service and without the immediate rush to rotate the venue for the next service, we feel that this venue offers a more private and personal experience.
